Egypt Defence Expo- EDEX 2018 was held under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo, Egypt, 3-5 December 2018. EDEX 2018 has won several international awards, including the prestigious Exhibition News Awards 2019 for Best International Trade Show in London, as well as at the Middle East Special Events and Exhibition Show 2019 in Dubai. EDEX 2018 was the first of its kind in an African nation. More than 40 countries and 400 companies took part. Among them were more than 40 American firms, 37 French companies, 28 Chinese, 20 English, 17 UAE-based companies, and 13 from Russia, amongst companies from other countries.

HiSky welcomed a large number of visitors from different countries across the region and worldwide. HiSky was extremely honoured by the special visit of the Egyptian Army Chief of Staff and the UK International Trade Delegation.

HiSky’s booth had full media coverage, including on social media in Arabic, English, French and Spanish using the following handles: #Egypt, #EDEX2018, #Armedforces, #military, #CIED, and #EOD. Social media analytics showed hundreds of hits (views, likes, reposting/retweeting).

Additionally, Mr Hatem Farrag, Managing Director, HiSky Aerospace, was interviewed by the Egyptian national TV. During the interview, Mr Farrag explained HiSky’s comprehensive, well-coordinated and innovative approach to prevent, prepare and respond to terrorist attacks and explosive devices. Mr Farrag also introduced HiSky’s Counter Terrorism & C-IED Hub for homeland security. He commended the huge effort in organizing EDEX 2018, its enormous success, economic returns and highlighted the main message EDEX 2018 delivered in terms of Egypt’s security, military power and strategic leadership in the region.

At EDEX 2018, HiSky proudly convened the first gathering of renowned international security and defence companies at HiSky’s C-IED & EOD Hub, which provides high-end products and training in the C-IED and EOD world. These included:

EDEX 2018 was fully supported by the Egyptian Armed Forces and organised by Clarion Events, the largest organiser of defence and security events in the world. EDEX 2018 brought together key defence and security stakeholders from the Middle East and North Africa region and across the world. The audience included key decision-makers from governments, army, navy, air force and the defence industry. The exhibition featured a conference programme and a fully-hosted international military VIP delegation programme. EDEX 2018 was a great occasion to meet with senior military and industry leaders from Egypt and the region, particularly the operational, procurement and contracting entities.
